We have a “secret” restaurant in Cyprus, Mousikos in Sotira which is off the beaten track. Only locals go there to eat. The majority of people in the village don’t even speak English. You have to order the Meze. It’s made up of 21 small dishes of all sorts of Mediterranean amazing foods (the homemade halloumi is to die for!). It’s such an authentic experience.  You’ll dine outdoors under passionfruit vines and the stars, just amazing.

My Road Trip Route

The Delimara Lighthouse speaks to Malta’s history as a British colony as well as its unique position in the Mediterranean Sea between two continents, while the exterior of the Auberge d’Italiae shows a bit of the Italian influence in Maltese architecture. All it takes is one look around Valletta to see why history is one of five reasons to fall in love with Malta.

The ancient site of Aptera is mostly known due to the presence of some well-preserved Roman cisterns that were used to provide water for the city baths. However, the site is home to numerous interesting Greek-Roman ruins such as villas, an ancient theater, Roman baths and a small temple that was probably dedicated to the goddess Demeter.
