What has the Salman Rushdie quote, “To understand just one life, you must swallow the world” meant to you?
On the staircase, the French established their first permanent settlement in 1643. The British finally conquered the French Navy and acquired the island in 1778. For this very day, St. Lucia remains a commonwealth territory of Great Britain.

Chef Morganti exemplifies Galician-Italian fusion cuisine. His work is known throughout the area as progressive and utterly delicious. I have to agree. It is difficult to understand why this restaurant does not yet have a Michelin Star, but if you happen to ask Flavio about that, he isn’t too concerned. His main objective has always been to keep his customers full, but hungry for more. He prides himself on his ability to make local ingredients shine with the latest cooking methods, and I can tell you first hand he is doing a fine job. You shouldn’t miss out on Galileo. Prior booking is a must.

Cahir Castle is one of the largest and best preserved medieval fortresses in Ireland. Its defense structures and the tower date from 1142 and are still standing proud and defy the passage of years. This castle was once the stronghold of the Butler family, former Irish nobility, and today fascinates tourists with spiral staircases, small side chambers and fantastic views captured from the Cahir Tower. The castle is situated on a rocky island of the River Suir in Tipperay County.
From San Jose it was an hour and thirty minute drive to Puntarenas, where we boarded a ferry with our Vamos Rent-A-Car. This ferry can take you to two different towns. Paquera, and Naranjo. We made sure to take it to Paquera in order to make it down to Montezuma as quick as possible. The ferry ride is about an hour long and has a strict schedule. Make sure to click here to see the ferry schedule. If you miss this ferry, depending on the time, you may be stuck in Puntarenas, or possibly even find yourself arriving too late to Paquera and driving in the darkness all the way to Montezuma which I do not recommend.
There is a geological explanation for Australia’s two most iconic natural wonders, and the story goes like this. Both Uluru and Kata Tjuta began forming over 550 million years ago, when rainwater began to erode the nearby Peterman ranges. Loose sand and rock were washed away, spilling over the surrounding plains and eventually solidifying. Over the subsequent 50 million years, these solid formations were buried beneath an inland sea and covered in silt and mud. The weight of the sea and the erosion by the sea water caused the formations to change chemically and physically. One became conglomerate rock (Kata Tjuta) while the other turned to sandstone (Uluru). Eventually the inland sea dried up, and over the course of 400 million years, wind and rainwater erosion have given the exposed portions of the rocks their distinct shapes. What we see today are the different ridges, holes, caves, ripples, and domes that serve as a testament to the land’s ancient beginnings.
